UDAAN 2k26, the Management Summit of MAKAUT, W.B., organised by the School of Management Sciences (SoMS), presents a debate competition. This debate is an opportunity to practice critical thinking, public speaking, and persuasion skills. Have fun, be respectful, and always strive to improve. Do not hurt the personal, religious, or cultural sentiments of other participants.

Debate Topic:- Profitability and sustainability cannot be achieved together — leaders must choose one

Rules & Regulations:-

• Participants will speak alternately for and against the motion as per group order.•

• The debate has two rounds (Argument and Rebuttal) with a 3+1 minute limit in Round 1 and 2 minutes in Round 2.

• The rebuttal round allows participants to counter the opposing team’s arguments.

• Arguments must be supported with credible evidence and sources.

• Debaters must maintain professionalism and avoid personal attacks.

• Use of mobile phones, smart devices, or dictionaries is not allowed during the debate.

• Judges will evaluate participants based on argument strength and communication skills and declare winners for both sides.
